I will donate my organs only after death from heart failure. I approach to organ donation problem by using both deontological and consequentialist belief explained by Shannon. From deontological point of view, I believe that the time of death is when a heart stops. Therefore, brain death is not actual “death,” and organ transplantation from brain death people will be equal to killing of them and it should not be allowed. Whatever happens, I have the unchangeable belief that the only case when heart stops are real death. On the other hand, I have the consequentialist belief on organ transplantation from death from heart failure. Although cutting my body which is the gift from my mother is ethically unacceptable, if my organ saves others, I will give them.
This is an interesting combination of ethical viewpoints in that the internal logic of the combination is consistent.
