BH Blogging Assignment 8

According to Wager, in third culture, people will live based on counterculturalist values. A centralized government, large republic, armies and bureaucracies will not exist anymore. People will live locally, make their own food goods and energies without being poor. However, technologies are quite progressed in the third culture.
In my opinion, it is possible that people start to live locally and have their own energies or foods. However, I think it is impossible to live without the existence of a centralized government. Living such a life under public service of the centralized government will work more.

Blogging Assignment 7

The republic based on democratic socialism, the Wagar's second future,  will become to have power after movements against capitalism which is run by a few people. The movement is likely to be occurred in social dificulties. Democratic socialism ensures civil liberties which have never been assured before. To realize them, nation-states and military powers will be broken down  to stop wars completely and all people will have the rights to freely achieve what they want on their own. However, democratic socialism can slow the progress of human beings because it will take for a long time to distribute power equally to all citizens. Also, there are risk that caste will be made and technocrats will control the republic.
In my opinions, I think real "socialism" which mentioned earlier will not be realized, and Wagar's fear of caste to be created will be realized instead. People always wants to have power than others. In the system of capitalism, power stracture can be changed. However, Under socialism, power stracture will not be changed easily. Therefore, I do not think democratic socialism system to be stractured in the future.

Blogging Assignment 6

The first future that Wagar states is globalized liberal democratic capitalism. In the world of the capitalism, rich will be richer due to technology, energetic stance of political democracy, and by opening up new markets. On the other hand, it will widen the gap between rich and others. Although it will persist for a while, the system will collapse as business growth are expected to have slowed in 2030s, and other problems such as rise in crime or environment degradation. Today, what Wagar expected is becoming true, but I do not think the system will change because I cannot think of better system than this.
